Diversity in the Newsroom: Building an Equitable Press

  • Stavros Niarchos Foundation Library 455 5th Avenue New York, NY, 10016 United States (map)

Newsrooms have increased their diversity efforts in recent years, still, there is a lot of room for improvement. In association with Media Literacy Week, Center for Communication and New York Public Library present a panel discussion featuring journalists and leaders in the field talking about the challenging path of amplifying voices and perspectives of communities that have been historically underrepresented in media.

Presented with the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment and Stavros Niarchos Foundation Library

This program is supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.

The Center's programs are made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.

The event will be recorded and distributed through NYC Media. The Center for Communication and NYC Media will be in control of the transmission, recording, and distribution of the event.
