The Stanton Award
The 40th Annual
Stanton Award Honoring
James Pitaro
Help Us Make Our Salute to Jimmy Even More Successful!
The Center was proud to honor Jimmy Pitaro, Chairman, ESPN, with our 40th Annual Frank Stanton Award for Excellence in Communication on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at 583 Park Avenue, New York City. The award was presented at an evening reception that paid tribute to his extraordinary achievements, celebrated diversity in the media industry, and showcased our amazing student community.
“Jimmy is a forward-thinking leader and is always focused on innovation, which has kept ESPN at the top of its game,” said Center for Communication Chairman Emeritus David J. Barrett. “He is also deeply committed to creating an ESPN where everyone feels they belong, making diversity, equity, and inclusion a core business priority. We are thrilled to honor Jimmy for his success and his shared passion for opening doors for the next generation of media leaders.”
“The Center for Communication plays an important role in creating the future of our industry,” said Pitaro. “I am proud to represent the people of ESPN in receiving this recognition.”
Funds raised by our Stanton Award celebration sustain the Center’s year-round career education programs, providing our students with the knowledge, skills, and connections they need to succeed in media.
