But, don’t just take our word for it…

“It's always been my dream to have a career in the Media and Entertainment Industry. The Center for Communication gave me a great opportunity to interact and network with the most dynamic media companies in the world. Moreover, when I went to the Women + Media Summit I met many creative and interesting people who have become my inspiration! I’ve learned a lot about the next steps to get my career started not only in media, but specifically as a woman in media. It is a great journey and I'm very thankful to have access to events that the Center for Communication presents!”

Antonina Shpeyt, Graduate Student, Kingsborough Community College

“The panelists from forums at the Center for Communication have the experience and knowledge of how they rose to the top in their own fields. They have helped me to understand the concrete steps necessary to furthering my career, whether it’s what specific skills are crucial to recruiters or how to draft a LinkedIn message that will actually get a response. These forums have equipped me with professional knowledge from people who have the type of jobs I want. While there is a lot to learn in a classroom, the Center for Communication has helped me as a student to connect to the real world of media opportunities after graduation.”

Rachel Spang, Sophomore, New York University

“Being part of the Center’s community has impacted my career path in an enormous way. I have truly connected with individuals who inspire me to keep moving forward in one of the toughest industries.

I now know what it’s like to work at companies like Google, BuzzFeed, Mic and Latina magazine, and my relationship with the Center has led me to secure an internship in my ultimate dream company: VICE Media.”
