The 3rd Annual
Women + Media Career Summit

Our 3rd Annual Women + Media Career Summit held at the New York Stock Exchange, was empowering, motivating, and inspiring for all who attended. More than 200 students from over 40 colleges and universities were represented. Current students and recent graduates had the opportunity to hear from top executives and professionals from Hearst, WarnerMedia, Nielsen, BRIC, CBS, NYSE, KD Leadership Strategies, HBO, JMP Branding, and ABC News.

This year's theme was, Take Charge of Your Future, and it was evident throughout the day that students were ready to take charge! Advice ranged from being open to not having all of the answers, but having a willingness to learn; understanding that your career trajectory is a marathon and not a sprint; knowing the difference between a mentor and and a sponsor; how to advocate for yourself and show off your accomplishments in the right setting; and most importantly, understanding how to build relationships, maintaining those relationships and leveraging those relationships as you grow your career. Suffice to say, everyone left on a higher level than when they first arrived.

We want to extend a big thank you to our speakers Anne del Castillo, Kate Lewis, Lucy Kaylin, Megan Clarken, Yrthya Dinzey-Flores, Kristina Newman-Scott, Laurie Rosenfield, Betty Liu, Kameka Dempsey, Dr. Rachel Goldman, Antoinette Miller, Mary Noonan, Jacqueline Peros, Tina Perry, and Stephanie Mehta. Their honest, open and engaging conversation and advice invigorated the summit and truly inspired everyone that was in attendance.

The day wouldn't have been a success without our sponsors. We are grateful for the continual support of our sponsors CBS, HBO, Hearst, Discovery, McKinsey, the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment, Nielsen, and WarnerMedia.
