doug melville, chief diversity officer, tbwa worldwide

Doug Melville is the Chief Diversity Officer for TBWA\Worldwide. TBWA creates disruptive ideas expressed through media arts for clients. TBWA is a top ten ranked global advertising agency, with 323 offices in 97 countries, and 11,000+ FT employees worldwide. Since assuming the role, TBWA has spent > $150mm with Multicultural + Women Owned Business in the creative space, increased diversity efforts across North America, and created a cultural commitment to inclusion.  Melville’s presented 3 TEDx talks on the topic, appeared on Fox Business, and sits on the Board of Directors for the American Advertising Federation (AAF) as co-chair of their Mosaic Committee.
 
Prior to joining TBWA, Melville worked alongside Earvin “Magic” Johnson from 2005 until 2009, first as President of his advertising agency, then as VP-Business Development and Marketing for Magic Johnson Enterprises – developing online, nontraditional and branding strategies for the Magic Johnson brand, his New York Times best-selling book and for his portfolio of partners. Melville graduated from Syracuse University.

Previously, he's been at companies like Groupon, Foursquare, and Bonobos focusing on technical recruiting.

Katie Hopkins is Mic's Technical Recruiter, specializing in hires for their product and engineering teams.  She previously worked at AOL for 3 years, first as a Recruiting Coordinator, then as a Campus Recruiter.  Katie earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Delaware, and also has experience with social work and community service efforts.

Lauren started her career as a creative recruiter at a small boutique staffing agency and has since worked her way up to being an in-house Talent Recruiter for one of the fastest growing media companies, Refinery29. Lauren has strong roots in the creative industry, but also supports hiring efforts for R29's Marketing, Editorial, and Corporate departments (as well as the Creative team!). Along with recruiting, Lauren is passionate about diversity and inclusion efforts as well as junior professional mentorship.
