Helene De Vries, Chief Talent Officer, MRY
Helene De Vries, MRY’s Chief Talent Officer, is focused on translating MRY’s business strategy into recruitment efforts that attract and retain the top talent for the agency. Helene derives no greater satisfaction than seeing careers thrive and grow, and has had a hand in hiring hundreds of employees at MRY across all agency disciplines and levels. Passionate about people and culture, Helene’s mission is to ensure that MRY’s hiring process is best in class.
Prior to MRY, Helene spent more than ten years on the executive search side of the business, focused on senior level marketing roles with industry leaders Gundersen Partners and DHR International. Helene started her career in media at DMB&B (now Mediavest) and went on to travel the globe on the client service side with sports marketing agency Millsport (now The Marketing Arm).
Helene’s personal passions include actively supporting her kids in their many endeavors, playing tennis with her husband and continuing her never-ending quest to figure out what makes people tick. Helene graduated with a double major in Political Science and Psychology from Union College.
Charlie Keinath, Lead Tech Recruiter, Buzzfeed
Charlie Keinath is currently the Lead Technical Recruiter for BuzzFeed Inc. Prior to joining BuzzFeed he led tech recruiting at The Huffington Post & Patch Media Corp, where his duties included identifying top notch talent within the Start Up World/Silicon Alley in NYC.
Charlie holds a degree in Finance from Fairfield University and is an avid Krav Maga practitioner.
fran PomeranTz, Founder, The Pomeranz Group
Fran Pomerantz is the founder of The Pomerantz Group, LLC. Ms. Pomerantz founded her firm in 1995 in Los-Angeles at the dawn of digital media. She was recognized as a leader in the industry and was named one of the top 50 Digital Coast executives by the Digital Coast Reporter. Based in New York City, Ms. Pomerantz focuses on recruiting executives in the Digital space across a broad range of industries and disciplines, including early-stage venture capital, private equity backed firms and smaller-sized public companies.
Prior to The Pomeranz Group, Ms. Pomerantz was a Partner in the Media, Entertainment and Convergence sectors within Korn/Ferry’s Global Consumer Market where she recruited senior digital media executives across a range of industries, with a focus on internet and mobile companies. Recognized as a digital expert nationally, Ms. Pomerantz is a frequent speaker at industry conferences where she discusses industry trends, leadership challenges, recruiting, and career management in traditional and digital media spaces. She serves as a member of the Los Angeles Digital Coast Roundtable, and was a founding member of the VIC Executive Board.
Ms. Pomerantz received a Master’s degree in Educational Counseling from Arizona State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Lesley College in Cambridge, MA.
Samer Zaben, Technical recruiter, vimeo
Samer Zaben is a Technical Recruiter for Vimeo. In this role he’s responsible for talent acquisition for front and back-end engineering, mobile engineering, big data, infrastructure, product, design, and search efforts for the newly acquired Cameo mobile app team. Samer also leads Vimeo's campus and career fair recruiting, along with all external events involving the engineering team.
Prior to joining Vimeo, Samer served as technical recruiter for Mondo, a New York-based digital marketing and technical resourcing agency, where he worked with a varied list of tech start-ups to place hard-to-fill engineering roles within applications and infrastructure.
Samer reports into Vimeo’s VP of Talent, Lindsay Deak Friedman and helped grow the company from 90 to 165 people in 2014, facilitating 35% of the total placements.
